At Rynkeby Maskinfabrik, we are aware that running a large company is not just about producing machine parts for our customers. It’s also about the way we do things, how we treat each other, the environment and the world around us.
Responsibility is a natural and ingrained value in our company. Since the founding of the company, we have had a strong focus on the human aspects and providing our employees with favorable work conditions. In line with the development and higher demands for responsibility towards the environment and the surrounding world, our focus has naturally also intensified in these areas.
di's project
As part of Rynkeby Maskinfabrik’s increased focus on the environment, we have participated in DI’s project ‘Climate-ready Production Company’. A project that gave us more in-depth knowledge about the climate agenda. This has enabled us to calculate our CO2 emissions and map our first carbon footprint. The project has also given us tools to set targets for future reductions so we can continuously improve.
We are working on reporting in the platform ECOVadis, which several of our customers will eventually require.
We have launched various initiatives to become a greener company. In addition to having a positive impact on the environment, the initiatives have also had a positive effect on our indoor climate, employees and finances.
We have installed a hybrid heating system where the primary heat source is air to water heat pumps. This means that we have reduced our CO2 emissions by +140 tons CO2/year. It has improved the indoor climate and stabilized our processes.
Installing a new ventilation system throughout the company has also had a positive effect on the indoor climate. This means that we now recycle up to 70% of the heat from the air we extract from our processes and reduce drafts from the fresh air intake. Manual deburring processes are also carried out at purpose-built deburring tables where extraction is ensured around the entire workpiece.
We have also switched to LED lighting throughout our 6,000 m2 production facilities, which has significantly reduced our electricity consumption for lighting and provided better lighting for work.
a responsibility we take seriously
In everyday life, safety and the working environment are top priorities at Rynkeby Maskinfabrik. Our employees are our most important resource and the ones who enable us to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers.
We continuously work to improve our work environment through our health and safety organization and through broad employee involvement throughout the organization. Our high level of seniority testifies to a high level of employee satisfaction and team spirit. The latest well-being survey, conducted by our work environment consultant Avidenz in 2024, shows that 96% of our employees often or very often enjoy their work.
We have several employments on special terms, including flex jobs, internships and about 10% of our employees are apprentices in the industrial technician profession, because we want to contribute to the development of the industry.
We support our employees’ wishes and needs for ongoing education, and we continuously train employees across the organization to prepare for generational changes and reduce vulnerability to illness and job changes.
